Who is Super Dooper Kids Books
Pat Mitchell is the author and creator of Super Dooper Kids Books.
A dreamer of dreams and a vision-caster, Pat explains why she started writing kids books in 2020. "My wish," she describes, "was to create a series of books in memory of our dog, Super Dooper. The kind of books, he would have loved listening to the kids read to him on our Therapy Dog visits."
Dooper was more than her and her husband's family pet. He was Pat's dog training partner. Pat and Dooper were Super Dooper Dog Training. From 2004, when they graduated together from a dog training academy, until their retirement in 2019 these two loved their careers and became close friends to many of their students.
Super Dooper Dog Training was so popular Pat and Dooper earned the prestigious Atlanta Magazine’s, Best Dog Trainer award!
Through it all, Pat's greatest joy was how they specialized in Therapy Dog training, testing and certifying teams. And they loved being a Therapy Dog team themselves whenever they went to hospitals and schools for visits. Dooper and his big smile were even featured on the cover of a popular Georgia magazine.
Her love for the magic of Therapy Dogs still glows brightly as Pat continues to volunteer as a Tester/Observer to certify teams for Alliance of Therapy Dogs across America.
Soon after Dooper's passing in 2020, Pat began searching. She was trying to find a way to share Dooper's amazing joy for life. Something in her heart kept beating, telling her to keep his shining spirit alive. She found her answer. This is when her imagination took flight and she created her dream and vision of Super Dooper Kids Books.
The craziest thing occurred while she was dreaming her dream. Pat realized she could make this into a wonderful philanthropic project; a way to pay her many blessings forward. Without hesitation, she decided to connect each book with a specific charity she loved and that charity would get every shining penny, 100% of the proceeds from the sales of her books. Additionally, Pat would pay for all expenses.
It has been a big win for the charities and for her dream. So far, Super Dooper Kids Books has successfully published three books in the series with just one more to go. Thanks to all the generous people who buy her books, these books have raised thousands and thousands of dollars!
Pat knew she definitely couldn't do this alone. She assembled a Super Dooper Kids Books Team. Together, they have created charming, uplifting and entertaining books that kids and adults love.
"My imagination creates the stories. It's my Super Dooper Kids Books Team which makes them into delightful books!"
Super Dooper Kids Books is living proof that dreams really can come true and they can be Super Dooper!
